Thanks! The car used to be 2.3 Turbo (SVO) powered, I decided to go a little more nuts. My super long build thread is here:

Oh shush. It was a 5 speed car before. My daily driver was a stick. Where I live, for the majority of the driving I do, stick just isn't all that fun. I've come to peace with it. Luckily, you don't have to drive it :)

I really just fail to understand that, even in traffic, or on long straight roads, I still definitely prefer a manual to falling asleep do to boredom from a automatic...and it's not that hard to drive in traffic, I drive a big brown manual truck all day long, 5 days a week in traffic and have no problems with it at all, lol

I see both sides. Being stuck in Seattle traffic can really be a bear though, and the old clutch was kind of stiff. For the driving that I normally do (just cruising around, going to shows, having it as a fun weekend / sunny day car), a manual just isn't that important to me.

I went with auto this time for these reasons:

1. It came with the engine and can handle the HP I plan on making. 5-speeds for these engines are $$$$ unless you cobble something together, and believe it or not this is a budget build.

2. My wife does not drive a stick. I have given up that fight. While she will not be driving the car that often, it would be nice to be able to dive to a party / road trip / bar / whatever and have her be able to drive home.

3. I'm just not a die hard stick guy. I don't place much stigma on one or the other. I've owned a bunch of manual cars and a bunch of autos, and right now I'm in an auto phase. Who knows, maybe next winter I will decide to go back to a 5 speed, but I doubt it. Maybe I will just build a paddle shift system.

4. My drive train now matched the VIN#, I6 with auto :)

A stiff clutch just means you need to work on your calve muscles ;) haha, and pretty much any 2jz transmission can handle high numbers, but if it came with the engine then that's one reason to not worry about it yet for sure. Shitty part about wanting to do a LS swap is the transmission in my case...T56's are so expensive, might as well just build my VQ35 and boost it..but I want a LS.. ergh, lol
